Trapped

They look to the left
Trapped. How to overcome the cleft
They look to the right
Trapped. Children are the ones lost in the fight

It’s a different world
Hoping for the story I never heard

Who to turn to, where to run
Told to hold on, while they wait for the gun
Run, run, run, hardship among refugees
Tainted with your nieces’ blood, sisters died on their knees

If you didn’t see it with your own eyes
It’s hard to imagine, condemn it as lies
You stand up when man gets deprived of his right
What about being deprived of life and his pride

It’s not the aftermath of the grenade
Or the scream of pain, in distance it fades
It’s those children eyes
Saying “Childhood taken by surprise”

They look to the left
Trapped. How to overcome the cleft
They look to the right
Trapped. Children are the ones lost in the fight

It’s a different world
Hoping for the story I never heard

Who and why won’t explain anything
Starvation and thirst give life a different meaning
Unlikely to see them cry
While you shed tears, they say “Life doesn’t respond to w h y”

Standing here, it makes me wonder
Should I stop to worry any longer
They seem to cope
With hope

What about those who gave up hope
What about those who ease the pain with dope
What about those who suffer your mental prostitution
What about those who caused this global frustration

They look to the left
Trapped. How to overcome the cleft
They look to the right
Trapped. Children are the ones lost in the fight

It’s a different world
Hoping for the story I never heard

Who and why reject everything
The pain and suffering they bring
It’s all about five letters, money, money, money
With the power to make you smile, isn’t it funny

Standing here, I can’t stop asking questions
There might be no answer neither keen perceptions
Of Peace and Life
As long the strong survive

Say it, one more time
Say you can’t feel the hard lines
Say you can’t bare the pain
Say it, you deny their pain is to your gain
Say you don’t make profit out of the poor
Say you pray for the answers – One day knocking at heaven’s door

They look to the left
Trapped. How to overcome the cleft
They look to the right
Trapped. Children are the ones lost in the fight

It’s a different world
Hoping for the story I never heard
