Day 1

If the owner of the heavens and earth,
Were to take my life at this moment,
Surely I would die one with many faults and sins,
But I promise you this, I would leave this world happy.
No, I don't have much to my name,
Perhaps I will leave behind more debts,
Than possessions to be gained, to be inherited,
For I have not tasted luxury, nor fame,
And I desire them not,
As the one who has tasted contentment,
Does not long for the glory, riches,
Others possess.
Simple things in life are enough,
For me:
A piece of bread is as delightful as a three course meal,
A decent shelter,
Will protect and keep me warm,
Just as a towering castle in the sky will.
Alhamdulilah!
