Manic State Of Mind

I thought I could handle your manic state of mind
But secretly inside I can’t help
to feel the gut of knowing that I was used
Emotionally embarrassed
and I can’t help to put myself down
Drowning thoughts I wish to delete
My fears I wish to defeat
Holding on to pointless memories
Faces I wish to never see
Two sides of faces, in a form of one

If only the mirror could now give the answers
Looking through your reflection
Are you seeing your breaking in agony?
Tormenting yourself and your worst enemy is you
And no one else

How come than I didn’t realize you was my enemy
Throwing insults at me, were secretly at your self
Our bickering and hate has done nothing more
But to let the cancer grow underneath our skin
And to see the sickness swimming through of our veins
But a feeling we’ll always recognise
Darkness is our friend in the game
Trickery mind games oh how you love to play

But I hope you weren’t taking me off not being the brightest
Surely you didn’t know
I’m a charmer and whatever stroked your ego
Made you sleep sweetly at night
Although I wasn’t the wiser one between us
You’re the mistake I’ll never make again
May a sweet cut put a sweet ending to this story?
A river of red water, maybe the worry and stress will than drain out of you and me.

Maybe hollowness will then disappear.
We’ve been keeping a false reality in fading thoughts.
It’s a habit that I make falling to
the arms of one who’ll never love me
This can’t be it that misery loves company only
Even though we are both lonely

Seeing ourselves through the eyes of another
It’s your manic state of mind which cannot be defined
You’re a lying victim, and I am the innocent of satanic mind
But to only wonder of a blurry new start, to keep on wondering if I’ll find my other half, and to the other half of my success,
I wish you all the best
Although it’s only wondering of a blurry mind,
and the words are too hard to find.
Manic state of both minds, oh, how we are so alike.

A country

A country blinded by hate
Crippled by ignorance and violence we can’t scrape
Held hostage by the darkness in its peoples heart
A country where war is the only peace
Its people fallen victim to a tribal disease
A country where the sound of the gun silences the cries of the young
A country plagued by a curse
Where past deeds change the present for the worse
a country where mistakes are repeated and lessons never learned
Dreams of tranquility and happiness shattered
A country where the present is a nightmare and the future is a fantasy
A country in which u will never dare to dream
As u will only be awakened by a scream
A country where there is only pain but no gain
A country so divided yet inhabited by the same ethnic group
A country where the young try to love when they are only taught to hate
A country that is filled with sorrow and despair
A country that bleeds from a wound that only gets deeper
A country whose last hope is those of us outside of it
A country in the horn of Africa known as Somalia is suffering and may Allah ease its pain and suffering

Devious Temptation

Fire lights up the darkened sky
Exotic and forbidden
You and I

Illuminating the mysterious peace of night
Wild and free
You're the knight

Pure desire so living
Enraged and calm
No ending

Heightens sense
It consumes
The desire expense

Anxious for this lust of freedom
Skin prickling with anticipation
We are flourishing blossom

For lust, desire and power
To claim its place
It's not over

With the words in your mind
I make the scenario
So divine

This is a poetry of devious temptation.

RESPECT

My dear wife!
The star of my pride!
My gold and silver!

My pearly Deeqa!
I respect thee!
As you ponder me!

The salvation of the love!
The woman-intellectual!
And the voluptuous houri!

My pearly Deeqa!
I respect thee!
As you ponder me!

For truth can't be hidden!
I declare in front of thee!
That I know you love me!

My pearly Deeqa!
I respect thee!
As you ponder me!

And on my part of the love,
You are decorated on my heart!
Between us is a true love in fact!

My pearly Deeqa!
I respect thee!
As you ponder me!

Owing to the interest of love in you,
In satisfaction of that I chose you!
From all these and those female beings!

My pearly Deeqa!
I respect thee!
As you ponder me!

I love thee!
Because of your smartness!
And the back-reaching hair!

My pearly Deeqa!
I respect thee!
As you ponder me!

I love thee!
For your date-washed!
And golden hue!

My pearly Deeqa!
I respect thee!
As you ponder me!

I sincerely love thee!
On account of our relation!
And you stick to our tradition!

My pearly Deeqa!
I respect thee!
As you ponder me!

In such a tough time!
Because of propping me!
And for the jolly tidings I love thee!

My pearly Deeqa!
I respect thee!
As you ponder me!

Halal is my love to thee!
I love thee for your good manner!
And for the sake of your noble genealogy!

My pearly Deeqa!
I respect thee!
As you ponder me!

Hi the Taleh-bred filly!
Praise is to the Almighty God!
Noble are you my dear!

My pearly Deeqa!
I respect thee!
As you ponder me!

You are rightful, to ask me for!
Whatever that you crave for!
As reward is indispensable!

My pearly Deeqa!
I respect thee!
As you ponder me!

My beloved and dear!
You pacified my spirit!
Expect no violation from me!

My pearly Deeqa!
I respect thee!
As you ponder me!

Coming to the clear wisdom,
You are my legitimate partner!
On earth and in the grave!

My pearly Deeqa!
I respect thee!
As you ponder me!

The Attack

Bang, bang
boom boom
Here comes the attack prepare for doom

Blowin up letters, slam, you take care of that wound
Move it, watch out the way, here I come
I'll hit you with the words and make your ears feel numb
Cause what I'm giving is straight out the box
And what I'm throwing you is built strong as an ox

Put the pen in my hand and say go
Finish writing, take a bow
Writing takes a while to master, it's art
It can be for the money or from the heart
Just whatever the word attack is on it's way
Take the headphones off and listen to what I have to say

Bang, bang
boom boom
Here comes the attack prepare for doom

Group poem 5: Unite for the sake of AS-SALÂM

Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "The believers in their mutual kindness, compassion and sympathy are just like one body. When one of the limbs suffers, the whole body responds to it with wakefulness and fever". [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

It's true; our father came from many different lands
Molded to perfection within His loving Hands
The uniqueness of the earth from many different places
Seeing nothing but myself in many different faces
In earnestness we seek peace in this our time
We pray, and we cry to end this awful crime
Our origins are one, and yet we stand divided
The pain within our souls, no longer can we hide it
Our beloved taught to spread words of peace amongst us
Giving gifts of our compassion for a world that is just
United hand in hand; no dispute of yours or mine
Returning to His land, and a love which is divine
Sa'eed Purcell

In our darkest moments when we look towards things what we see that gives us strength and peace of mind is our beautiful diin (religion).
It is what unites us – protects us and what Allah has given as a blessings to US!
Islam is Allah’s words and mercy upon us and the prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam was sent to convey it’s that simple yet somehow our sanctity of brotherhood in Islam seems betrayed. Like the setting sun shining its last dying rays on a clear lake thus shimmering the mirror waters we too must reflect on our deeds.

I am a Muslim thus pledging to have the best interest of all Muslims at heart. To obey my elders and to show mercy to the young to hold women in the highest of honours and men the highest of respect both genders equal in the eyes of ALLAH both honour and respect equal in benevolence.

and so my brothers in Islam let us seek the unity that we so desperately need, being so united that we send the same message to the world through words ,actions, and peaceful intentions, the message....LA ILAAHA ILLALAAH!
Mohamed Jamal Mohamed (SIRAT)

Ya Allah increase our imaan so we might set our differences aside and united!
Our ummah has been disunited for too long now!
And, in times where unity is crucial – we sought the path of dividing ourselves
Hating ourselves,
And torture ourselves.
Ya Allah increase our imaan so we may become follow the footsteps of early Muslims…
Ya Allah guide us for truly you are Al-Hadi!
Ya Allah help us to see the truth for you are Al-Haqq!
Ya Allah unite my Muslim brothers and sisters everywhere!
For truly we have become so heartless, and blind to the suffering of our own people!
Let us stop being the obstacle and problem for one another
And unite for the Sake of Allah Ta’aal
Let us repent for our heartlessness…For Islam teaches one to love for others what they love for themselves!
Oh my fellow Muslims let us kindly unite and take the historical path of unity!
For the Rasullah sallahahu alayhi wassallam said "The relationship of the believer with another believer is like (the bricks of) a building, each strengthens the other.” [Bukhair and Muslim]
Let us unite, ya Muslims!

my tears dry on their own

My Tears Dry On Their Own,
My Days Starts And Ends With A Frown,
I Am A Nomad Without A Home,
But I Am Strong Like The Ox,
I Keep Getting Up From These Painfull Knocks,
In A World Full Of Insensitivity,
I AM Quickly Losing My Positivity,

Breathing Is Hard,
Running Away Just Brings Me Back to Square One,
But Yet My Spirit Is Unscarred,
i Do Nothing Wrong To The World,
But i Sense Azrael Floating And Hovering Over Me,
Kiraman Katibin,
My Deeds Are Humble But Yet Hollow,
I Am A Leader And Yes Sometimes A Good Fellow,
I Cry,
I Tried,
My Tears Dry On Their Own

For my Brothers

My brothers are the strong men of the ummah
They do not shy away from growing their beards long….
They do not imitate others,
They lower their gaze – even when temptations knock harder at their doorstep…
They carry Islam on their hearts and mind…
And they place Allah SubhanAllah Wa Ta’aal on their top list….
To guide themselves,
To remind themselves,
To respect themselves,
And to follow the path of the early generation Muslims
They resist the path of the evil today!
You see my brothers are not merely
Africans,
Arabs,
Asians,
or Caucasian,
But rather they are MUSLIMS!
Muslims who proclaim and live la ilaha illa allah muhammad rasul allah
And, that makes them different..
My brothers are the protectors of the Muslimahs,
They know how to treat their
Parents,
Siblings,
Wife,
children,
Neighbors,
Co-workers,
and Friends justly…
And yet you see them as strangers for you can't never fathom the heart of a Muslim man,
And contrary to what the media preaches my brothers are not insecure and you will never seem them mistreating
their women for they know the status of women in Islam...
They know that paradise lies under the feet of their mothers
And, they also know the advice of rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wasallam that "The best of you are those who are best to their wives"
Still sometimes you fail to comprehend why they don’t go to
Clubbing with the boys
Or chill with the girls,
Or act all shady about things,
But you see these are men who are from the Ummah!
Men who place their foreheads on the floor 5 times x more!
And they only aim to please Allah Azzawajal,
Their goal is to enter Jannah,
And therefore you do not see them indulging in things that would displease their Lord!
And all those false accusations and allegations can never ever damage their imaan - it will only make them stronger, Alhamdulilah.
For they know that this world is only a mere transit for our souls!
Our real abode is the hereafter.
You see these are the reasons why my brothers are the strong men that they are!
And, for that I pray to the Almighty to keep them and us firm on the right path!

Aabo

Aabo…how I’ve missed you
It’s been eight long years since we lost you
Every time I remember your smile it brings tears to my eyes
I know everyone will leave, to go meet Allah one day
But I didn’t know the pain would be this unbearable
I will never forget your words, your advice, your kisses and your smiles
I am a better person today because of you
Aabo…I pray to Allah for a place in Janatul Firdows for you
I pray to Allah to see your smile once more
I pray my kids will have an Aabo like you,
One that will teach them what’s right or wrong
One that will love them like no other
One that will support them through thick and thin
One that will take care of them
Aabo you will forever be missed
Aabo there will be no other aabo like you
Aabo gabadaadha loves you…

Hopeless Poem

My everlasting desire and wish
We don’t even know who we are anymore, how did it come to this ?
Unaware of our identity so confused and lost
Trying to regain our minds no matter what the cost
Our role models equal broken bottles
Our role models be working at our local McDonalds
and the year maybe 2010
But for us Somalis its still ''wax isii ,wax keen''

Following the same path as our elders
Even though they be lost street dwellers
Growing up in these hard times
Waking up in the morning thinking where the day went'
Momma still struggling in paying the rent
And some be evicted
The most desperate of us, be convicted

An outcast in this harsh land
If only someone would take a stand
Show us a way we can follow
Our future looks empty and hollow
Behind every corner lies a trap just waiting for someone to swallow
We ain’t even looking forward to tomorrow
All of our elders failed us

Look at our condition, what went wrong
Relying on our sacred religion, trying to stay strong
we speak their language but still we don’t belong
Claiming we’re useless, we dare them to supply us with the proper tools
And I guarantee we’ll make scientists out of common fools

They say home is where the heart is
If so, that plane has gone and departed
So many of my friends have martyred
Mentally,
Looking for other options , even though they ain’t plenty
A generation rose of mtv and play station
Up to no good, hanging around central station
And in our daily frustration
We shout '' we don’t need no education''
Our brain is dead and waiting for its cremation

My last wish and advice
We need more role models on the rise
Always take care of the youth
Cuz, in the future we will surely eat from there fruit

Dear Somalia

Dear Somalia,

I heard about what they did to you
It's so sad to hear that they don't offer you a good a doctor
and sometimes leave you without a protector

Pain, pain and pain is almost everything you spell out
Sometimes I wonder what this suffer is all about

It just hurts to see you in this condition
Parts of you are good and seek recognition
Some haters divided you with knife; wishing to see you out of sight
While others pray for your recovery day and night

Even though I'm so far
I can hear you scream that comes from deep inside your heart
Whatever they do, Try to stay strong and one part
I want you to know that many of yours still love you and miss you

a poem for salma my sister

This is truly among one of my favorite poem for it is such a beautiful tribute to someone very special.

Beautiful, intelligent, almost divine, they describe you with these humble words of mine
loved, respected, idolized, adored, these are your qualities that one cannot ignore.
You possess a smile that could inspire the sun to shine, and eyes that show you care
my sister the mere sight of your presence reminds me of the treasure missing in my life - dear mother.
You encompass all that qualities of a beautiful soul - making me thinking mother is still here.
You have the strenght of father and the beauty of mother - no doubt you are the best among us.
You're our rock, our leader, our comfort zone to answer each of our calls
we haven't forgot how you helped father tremendously
As he speaks of you a twinkle in his eye displays how proud you made him....Did you know that?
and we love you forever so much - Ramla, Shamarke and the babies too
Zack, Hodo and Mubarak, but MY daughter I name after you
QALANJO, QAALI, QIIMO BADANAY, to my people I only confide
the honor of our culture, the queen of our hearts as you bask in Somali pride
and though words cannot explain my love for you - I only pray people understand
That there is no women that comes to comparisons throughout our ancient lands
So my sister is a diamond precious yet unique
hard to find but they do not stop this diamond they will to seek
I will not blame you, but if lucky enough to find the diamond hidden away for years
I hope you know I will crush the fool that tries to bring my diamond to tears
for I will guard her as she did me years and year ago
she's in prays and in my heart this i hope she knows

To Salma from her brother.

Hooyo

Ammi, Madre, Mama, this is for you Hooyo,
For you we’ll always be so loyal.
Even though you are a Queen, you’re more than royal.
You have done everything to make us the best, your hard work I won’t spoil.
My love for you goes deeper than the earth’s soil, and richer than its oil…..
Oh, the days have come and gone, and the time has flown.
From youth hood to adulthood, you are all we have known.
Your children are now grown, and almost all on their own.
You gave us the freedom to roam as long as we did not do things you would not condone,
If we have hooyo, we will sure soon atone.
Still we leave you not alone,
Your phone is still labeled Home - to show that we still acknowledge your throne.
Your closer to us than our bone, in our hearts you are sewn.
Words can’t describe you, not even thousands of poems.

LABORATORY OF LOVE

It was yesterday in the evening,
That I went to laboratory of love,
Oh Deeqa! The result showed that
The love which burnt my heart,
Proliferated five times more than then!

If it is in its fullest gestation,
And the stamp of love is on it
That was engraved on by our hearts,
Thanks to the Almighty Creator;
Darling may you live with dignity.

You are my shin and my arm!
And my Sham-from soul-mate!
The one that I chose and satisfied the sight!
Dear, don't suspect of me that for
Falling in love with another lady,
And flirting with women for affairs!

My soul is in comfort with thee,
I am your partner in love,
Your share-holder in life,
I will never put thee in problem!
Neither in plight nor flabbergast thee!
I whisper to thee in love that
You are the wheels my life revolves on!

However far you are from me,
I still see your silhouette,
Through the power of my vision,
And via the screen of my iris,
I ask the smell-carrying air and birds,
To take words of emotion to thee!

My life lights kindle of love
For thee my soul-mate,
Blue light of love Honey,
Forever in calculation of love,
In dream I chat with thee!
Salute thee with poetry!
And frown on other ladies!

Accept not the cheap speculations,
The rumours architected by women!
Bear in mind the man in reins of love with thee
Has a knighthood of love with and for thee!
Dear Deeqa, don't pollute him with the said!
Be and behave as you are the wife of a poet!

Hollow of despair

And the kindness I give,
why must you treat me like a fool.
Knowing the feelings I have are longing for you,
falling for you deeply
drowning in the rain,
and how come you do not remember me nor my name?

See our hearts aren’t alike,
With words you profess you like me, but with your actions I see something else.
I don’t think you want me,
I just think I’m the nearest thing to loving.
You never want to be alone.

So the comfort of having something makes you feel much more of a man.
Do I have any meaning to you at all?
See I knew you were using me.
I was just agreeable of you giving me the pain,
Instead I Confused it of being loved.
Above all this, I turn back again.

I want you to know settle for what you want not for good enough.
Seeing that the night sky hasn’t changed,
flickering stars I wish to touch.
That my tears are gone,
there aren’t any left to share.
So spare me and my feelings, before I break into sorrow and despair.

See it isn’t fair, so I want somebody to love,
and is this love to far to feel.
And you and I are close,
so why the bond can’t be just being as close.
I’m difficult I know, but the secrets left with me should never be told.

And it would be nice if you tolerated my worst flaws,
because I’ve learnt to like yours.
I want you to tell me that things would be alright,
be the guarder of the darkness nights.
For the kisses to be longed remembered,
sweetness will be sweeter than ever.

I want you to be mine. And I want to feel that you want me to,
to not feel like an object of being used.
Feeling worthless, useless and clueless little fool...
So you don’t believe in love, so why have you got a grip on me.
Let me go if there isn’t more, between us. If it’s just lust.
I don’t want to be the type who would fuss,
Because I don’t want nothing more, other than you

May the rose’s thorns cut, and let it flow,
for the pain to be the loving pain.
I want to run away, to the sea of the flowing emotion,
listening clearly, there may not be a tomorrow.

Seeing sun setting,
resting on the sand and the coldness of the wind whispers that I’m alone, watching the sun disappear may it take me so I could disappear?
To reappear to the same night. For the first kiss

Bilal

Dear, Bilal
My beloved son
I named you after a keepsake
I could not keep.
A man,
So beloved to me
I am sure I loved him several life times.

A man,
You do not know
But rightfully should have been your father.
If destiny
and her sister fate
Weren’t so cruel and unkind to me.

He was simple
Nomadic as can be
Soft spoken
Yet openly compelling
Smile so captivating
Imprisoning my soul
Several life times over

Often,
When I hold you
I strongly feel him
As if he’s been reincarnated within you
Giving me back
The chance I was cheated
To love him adequately.

So I hug you
As tightly as I would have him
And shower you with kisses
One for each days his been gone
And I clebrate you
The same way I still celebrate him
Praying
You embody
Te same honorable fabric
So deeply embedded in him

A man,
You do not know
But rightfully should have been your father.
If destiny
and her sister fate
Weren’t so cruel and unkind to me.

The bond of love

“Love… It surrounds every being and extends slowly to embrace all that shall be.” ~ K. Gibrin

Some relationships outlast the brightness of the daylight…
For they shine even in darkest valley…
They are kind of relationships that suck out the poison out of our lives…
Some relationship outlasts the instant gratification of life….
For they are the sources of our happiness all year around…
They are the rainbow that spreads its beautiful hues in our lives…
These are the bonds of love….
That is in our hearts for eternal…
These bonds are the links that connect us with our
Mothers.
Fathers.
Spouse.
Children.
Friends.
Humanity.
These are the bonds that our creator has placed in our hearts….
For people that lit up our lives with their mere presences…
These are the bonds of love
For they shine more than the sunshine….
For they are sweeter than the sweetest honey…..
Melodies than the most melodic song…
Comforting like a mother’s womb…
These are the bonds that make people we love
Live in our heart even when death embraces us.

MY DEDICATION TO MY LOVE!

I have witnessed the completion of perfection,
I’ve never seen anything as beautiful as you are,
The pure innocence of your presence melts my heart,
Forever I have been waiting for this very moment,
Truly you’re beautiful like the sun; brighten the night like the stars,

You’re like an exotic creature I never came across before,
With such sensation movements,
Floating across the ground with grace,
Truly essence is like a trap I can’t escape from,
Forever I want to fall in love with you…

Through your smile I the brightest of life,
And in your eyes I see the missing pieces,
You’re my every aspect of life a spot you fill,
You’re my surrounding beautification,
I will never get tired of looking at you.

My only addiction is you,
No matter the distances between us, my feeling for you is indescribable,
You’re my eternal queen and I’m your king,
I must confess the effect you’ve on my infant heart,
I could forever tell you the feeling I’ve for you,
But there is no amount of love to fulfill the love I get from you…

BLEEDING WOUND

The world is full of war and wonders!
Peace died at the hands of the killers!
Prime lives are lost now and then;
Sisters cry and mourn for their brethren;

Oh the peace-loving brothers!
Ah the troublesome war-mongers!
I hate he who hates peace!
I love he who loves peace!

Look at the violation of human rights!
And say NO to all kinds of African plights;
Let us not forget Ogaden condition,
Let us cry for the troubled people in that region;

Ogaden is a big and bleeding wound,
A bleeding wound in the heart of the Horn of Africa,
Many lives are maimed and lost there,
But the world is ignoring or unaware!

Where are the African peace-builders?
Where are the continent's Nobel Peace Prize winners?
Hurry up please Nelson Mandela!
And mediate Ogaden and Ethiopia;

It is so long that girls are raped!
It is so long that heroes are killed!
It is so long that guns are fired!
It is so long that wounds are widened!

I weep for the African brothers and sisters,
Both Ethiopians and Ogadenians,
That lost their fathers and siblings;
Ogaden is an all-ignored African-Palestine!

I am an African peace-instructor,
I am an African trouble-shooter,
I am an African war-eradicator,
I am an African life-protector;

I am the brain-child of peace,
I am brother to peace and cooperation,
I was born at consideration,
And brought up at devastation;

My heart is burning!
My blood is boiling!
I like to see Africa at peace,
I yearn for Africa's stability;

World is at terror!
Africa is at turmoil!
Somalia is at negation!
Ogaden is at oppression!

I am a neutral writer,
A central solicitor;
An African trouble-analyst;
A born author and pan-Africanist;

I will phew as long as women are at risk!
I will whew as long as the world is at danger!
I will oppose as long as corruption is in Africa!
I will campaign as long as peace is at my reach!

I am here to erase racial discrimination!
I am here to criticise aggression!
I am here to call for war elimination!
I am here to compose songs of peace and love!

The Sword of Knowledge

With one mind, one heart and one love
We stand together side by side
Our time has come
Arise
The fight for a better Somalia has begun
Young people from the corners of the world stand ready
Raise the sword of knowledge
We are prepared to wage war against the ignorant
Give hope to the people who want to return

Son of a Somali Lion (Dedicated to my dad)

I’m the son of a Somali lion,
regal in all appearance, loved and revered in equal measure, a position fit for a king.
His highness walks with nobility...his eyes though weary of life’s cruelty, as it was cruel enough to take his queen, they show a twinkle of joy whenever they spot the sight of his cubs.
He then smiles remembering her for a minute; before he gives a roar that reviles the roles of thunder in respect for the cherished memory of her majesty their mother.
I am the son of a Somali lion,
as the lion climbs the highest of rocks he glances upon the safari plains looking on to his kingdom, gazing upon the furthest of objects that the setting sun allows him to see whilst enjoying the gentle and calming breeze that brushes his imperial mane he thinks of what was, what is, and what is to become.
Understanding the cycle of life and that he must protect his pride like his father did and his father before him...
I’m the son of a Somali lion, I roar in accordance with the roar of my father
though my efforts are plausible i have yet to be heard from a mile away. While that of my father stretches from the Somali plains to the Serengeti.
I look, listen and learn yet with each step i grow closer to the throne i stop to wonder and question my abilities. Be that as it may, i know, like the celestial patterns that make up shapes of men and creatures that forever baffled astronomers, it is written in the stars.
so let me take my first step in climbing these rocks as my father did as did his, and let the wind brush through my mane, let the thunder be jealous of my roar, and let it reach the Serengeti.
and in taking my final step let me join my father and his father and his on the mountain above the safari looking on to our kingdom and at once roar a roar that silences the storms, shakes the African ground and proclaims what is to be true...we are here, we are lions....we are kings.

Group poem 4: For the men we love - Fathers.

Thank you everyone for participating in group poem FOUR, this group poem is really different from the other ones we have had so far. The feelings and emotions of the writers are not similar. Everyone holds a unique perspective on this poem. May Allah Ta'aal bless and grant the fathers who are not amidst us anymore, and children of these fathers have the patience to comprehend what Allah Ta'aal said in Surah Al-Imran verse 185 that "every soul shall have a taste of death."we can only pray to be among the ones who adhered to that path of rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wasallam in this life and be among the guided ones in the hereafter.

*Nada Mohamed*

Hes been the main man in my life.
And when I'm weak, he's my back bone and makes sure I'm standing up right.
I can see your love for me, for it shines through, lighting up my darkest nights.
It's so easy for you to make me smile, just be by my side.
And when I would fall down and cry my tears you would wipe.
When I was scared, you assured me things would be fine.
Not sure how I could of made it this far without you.
My Father how I truly Love you!
*Kayla Okrah*

Father, you are the reason why I breathe, I owe my life to you!
You embrace me when I’m not myself and gave me your name; you take care of me effortlessly and worked towards bringing me when I was a little boy and later to be a gentleman. You taught me good habits, discipline and showed what unconditional love is all about.
You natured me to a worthy son and to one day fulfill your dreams and take over your responsibilities. The sun don't set without seeing you, I admire your legacy and respect you to an extent where I would not be able breathe without you. Years pass by while I’m still trying to follow your footsteps, but your work has been kept in the book of all time records. Father, you’re the light of my life, the joy, happiness, love, affection, laughter I receive from you is priceless, may you live longer.

WITHOUT WIFE MEANS WITHOUT LIFE!

Without wife means without life!
Cutting stone with blunt knife!
Bachelor's world is so dry!
Marriage is so sweet, try!

Heart longs for a heart!
As cat longs for a rat!
Not to kill or to curse!
But love razz to razz!

Living and missing mate!
Alone late at night late!
Fasting from a ripe fruit!
Awake mid hours like brute!

Sure, that is too bleak!
No connection to mouse click!
Twenty-four hours of stress!
Miles and miles deep in mess!

Lonely life is like hell!
All alone not feeling well!
In mess, dark, no access!
To dear words of success!

When she sits with thee,
Thou glance at her and see,
Love from heart to eye!
Your response is: kiss and sigh!

Marriage is not making love!
As bull mates cow to calve!
But to get good wife and kid!
And fulfilling godly need!

In marriage you are safe!
From prostitute's cafe!
Hunting her is wrong pave!
Indulge not in life and crave!

Marriage is life's pleasure!
And the mind's leisure!
It is a gift from God!
The Benevolent Lord!

When your darling is expectant and weak!
Or breast-feeding infant and about to peak!
Attempt not to slap her, please don't kick!
For love's sake her words gold and tick!

The Almighty God created a man!
And from his rib created a woman!
Desperate is man without her!
Bland is she if not him with her!

Shameful is man to man!
Worst is woman to woman!
Immoral is lesbian and gay!
In Islam that is NAY!

For you dear,

In the name of shared celestial home we occupy - let us start this journey
With the natural resources that we all come to rely for benefits - may it united us
With the protecting shades of skies - may it bring us closer
With the firm ground we all walk to travel - may it solidify our bonding

Time to let go our differences - political, religious and nationalism
Death has visited all of us - time after time
Our mourning is no different - we bleed the same way
Our yearn for happiness is no different - for love, joy and family

Time to reconnect with each other - for common future of ours
Time to start the healing process - for once and all
With that - let love for peace transcend everything else
May we enter into peace.

Invasion from the inside out

As your mother,

I build you a castle, a fortitude unlike any other, unconquerable

Impregnable with foreign lineage, and lullabies.

Fully implanted with my offspring’s, entrenched with love.

Teaching you all the same culture, creed, and consensus for centuries.

Only to have my child, your sibling backstabbing me

By opening the back door and inviting the envies foreign neighbour in

An enemy who plunders and pockets all our beauty

Barricading you inside your palace of hate

All the while watching while you massacre your brothers one by one

For a sense of entitlement you thought your tribe was owed.

My son you can do better

My daughter you ought to know better

Sincerely, your mother

Life {Words of Wisdom}

At times life can seem empty and meaningless, when you search deep down within yourself, you realize at times life has no meaning…It is easy to fall into the trap of stress, frustration and depression when life hold no meaning. Sadly, for some we never find the meaning of it – and death takes us away.

We never will come to understand life, but life has given us more then we can ever ask and yet we complain about life. How selfish we have come to be? Life has given us so much yet instead of being thankful we just complain about it. Instead of complaining at life why don’t you try to give something to life?

Some will try to pattern their life with material beautification belongings only to realise it will soon come to rotten. In one life there is love, ambitions and great dreams to be reached. One will remain silent for they only have those memories of yesterday, today and tomorrow to cherish. A broken life will firm a pattern of meaning only to give the heart a beating chance to remain alive.

We are all in between struggle and surviving to preserve a wrathful life. Searching our purpose of life at times can lead us to places of darkness and sorrow. But no man can tell another what this purpose is. Each must find out for himself, and must accept the responsibility that his answer prescribes…

"O Allah! Give us in this world that which is good and in the hereafter that which is good, and save us from the torment of the fire!"

Somali Warriors

We are the warriors who survived the blows of warlords who stole the pride and glory of our homeland!
We are the warriors that will work towards building our country; we are the generation that will ensure the generations to come will have a home they can embrace minus the war and poverty. We are the generations that will bring back the glory of 1960 to our people, inshAllah.
We are the warriors who survived the cruelty of refugee camps!
Our love for Somalia is the rope that unites us together!
We are the youth of Somalia!
We are the youth who condemn tribalism and are united on the concept of Somalinimo!
We aim to learn from the mistakes of the past!
We will not dwell and fantasizes about the most expensive wedding attire, or even be distracted with things that will just bring instant gratifications.
We will be women who will support their husbands!
Women who will not seek to belittle their spouse or children.
We will be more than just being W-O-M-E-N!
We will be the best of daughters, sisters, mothers, and wives!
For we are the women warriors of Somalia who will not indulge in things that are not beneficial!
We will love our fellow Somali regardless of what tribe s/he subscribes too...
We will be men who will support and raise a family!
We will be more than just being M-A-N!
We will be men who will learn from the mistakes of the past!
Men who will support their women!
We will be the best of sons, brothers, fathers and husbands!
Collectively we will be the warriors who will support one another.
We strive to raise children who will be Muslims and adhere passionately and sincerely to the path of Rassulllah sallallahu alayhi wasallam!
We are the warriors who comprehend the value of education!
We will be the future educators, doctors, lawyers, engineers, poets, writers, teachers, professors, politicians, firemen and fire women, police men and police women, etc….
We, the Warriors of Somalia, will wave that blue flag with the white star high…
We are the warriors who understand their responsibilities towards our country….
We will act accordingly and cease every opportunity for the betterment of Somalia…
For we will inevitable be the warriors that will win against the warlords!InshAllah.

Rose in a concrete World

Africa is held hostage and being drained

She is weak and left bloodstained

Struggling to maintain

Never giving her adversary the pleasure of her pain

Always keeping a smile on her face, though her children are being slain

To this day she’s being raped of her riches

Her attackers escaped and left her in stitches

She’s well known for her astonishing beauty

So how can they put her trough such cruelty

But even though she’s living her life rough

One can not say she isn’t tough

From all corners of the world they come to see her up-close

This world is made out of concrete and Africa is its rose

But when her scars come forth and appear

They feel sick and quickly disappear

They don’t want to be nowhere near her

Cuz her disfigured body becomes clearer

But she never gets upset

Always giving them her utmost respect

She tries to look past the fact that they easily neglect

Countless letters she wrote to the UN

Telling her about her story and thinking he’s a friend

Complaining about her son Rwanda being insane and hurting himself

The UN read it and laughed, put her letter at the bottom of the shelf

And about Sudan and how he’s been starving for multiple years

Once again her all her requests fell on deaf ears
What about Somalia, drowning in his own tears

Sadly Africa is easy to ignore

And behind her beauty she’s hungry and poor

Not knowing what goes on behind closed doors
Like when they secretly infected her with HIV

Putting the blame on her very own green monkey

Making her believe she’s filthy and unclean

While laughing behind her back how evil and mean

Borrowing her money to put her on her feet

Money they now she can’t pay back so they chop her up like a peace of meat

Stealing her diamonds and her oil

Creating chaos and turmoil

This would make anyone’s blood start to boil

But not Africa, she always keeps a cool head

Even if they have left her for dead

And she believed the lies she has been told

While waiting for the truth to unfold

Africa is young with and old soul

Behind all the smiles you can see her warm heart start to turn cold...
