Beauty

Dictionary.com tells me that it means
the quality present in a thing or person that gives intense pleasure
or deep satisfaction to the heart or mind
I’ve discovered that that definition is different from country to
country, when it comes to beauty apparently there isn’t just one
kind
Kayan, a tribe in Thailand, place rings to help elongated their
neck,so they wouldn’t consider you “beautiful” until they check and see
that the measurements are what they accept
long hair, jewelry, saris, and homemade remedies
those are just  few of India’s beautifying necessities
in a village of Mauritian, the bigger the better
young girls are force fed so they can be more attractive for their
men you might be thinking that’s the opposite of anorexia in the USA
but think again you see the appearance might be different but the outcome is the
same little girls, and maybe even boys who are ashamed
of who they are because they think they aren’t good enough
skinny enough, tall enough, light enough, dark enough
They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder, sometimes I stop
and wonder so, what exactly is beauty?
can it really be attained, or is it just a pursuit that human beings
have made their duty is it even something that can be seen with the eyes like shiny cars
and bling, stacks of money, and the finer things,
an obsession, insanity with perfection that has caused so much
grief if only they could crack open a Quran and find that “verily in the
remembrance of Allah do hearts find relief”
