April 9: I want to wake up in my Africa!

The laughter that was filled with yesterday
The genuine love of the earth
The respectful glance towards elders
The wisdom of our grandfathers and grandmothers
The beautiful smoky smell of the unsi
The distance laughter of the women
And the men who love them
The innocence of children protected
And the tradition that was valued
I want to wake up in a land
Where random strangers
Smile at one another
And the young run to
Help the old
And where the cows
Roam the land freely
I want to wake up in a land
That the earth rejoices
Every minute of the day
Where the absence of  electricity
Brings a night full of laughter and conversations
And not a mournful attitude...
Where human interaction
if not limited to social networks...

I want to wake up
In the memories of yesterday
In the land of the poets
I want to wake up in my Africa.
