April poems: Scattered thoughts.

They linger around the neighbourhood
Camouflage their identity
In a perfect quest of finding
Criminals...
They say, they are here
To find criminals..
Dangerous criminals..
As if crime is only known
To poor neighborhoods
As if drugs are not sold
In reputable universities
And used by "our" future leaders
As if violent crimes are not
Committed in rich households...
As if rape does not happen in the miliatary..
Nah
Only these filthy an poor
Inherently violent
Black and Brown people
Are capable of such violence....
Therefore, locking them up
And criminalize them before an act of crime takes place
Is helping keep the community safe...
So they say
And so we believe
Like gullible children.
