April poems: Scarf

He said, your scarf is beautiful
She said, thank you
Wherever I go I don't take if off
For it's my identity, and it makes me respected
There were times when I use to dream wearing it
But I was young, mom use to tell me this
Honey, the day you reach the age to wear it
It's going to protect you from evil eyes
Though it's true, I still think it just a scarf but it's my identity
This scarf that has every color, is something I have to honor
This scarf, we call it hi-jab!
