Camel

Sand passes me as I’m searching
Weather that chills me
Milk I drank of
Camel, where are you?
Yesterday, here
Tomorrow, gone
Day after day
I’m still looking for my camel

Tired of waiting
My hope is crushed
Prayers to God
Everyday, minutes after seconds
A lost camel
I was its owner
Loved him as my baby
Alone in the desert
He was there to save me
Stars above who protected me
Whispered don’t quit
You’re too strong now

Lift me up from this nightmare
Camel?
Your silence I can hear
Words calling out for me
Movements during nights
Thought you never leave me
Siesta time,
And still I recall your voice
I miss you, Camel.

Qabil

Do you realise what you have done,
You say its destiny
That’s the way it’s meant to be
But destiny is only written down
Because one who has infinite knowledge
Knows you best you see

When the child up against that wall
Looks up to the sky with eyes full of no hope
Because you put a bullet to his parents mouths,
When you squeezed the life out of this dirt
Just Below your feet
And you stained it, lipstick red
The same colour she bought that evening
She put on to impress her husband and family
Before you shot her through the head
War is indiscriminate.
His mature mind pulsates with thoughts of revenge,
Encased, being held back by his young skull

Do you realise what you’re doing
When you crouch, like the killers of the savannah
Methodically aiming you ak47 in a house,
Through a window
And towards yet another man

As you aim do you not see?
The man, sitting opposite wears the same skin as you
Has grown up on the same land,
With which your mother and father, as toddlers would play about
He speaks the same tongue as you
And on Fridays you would most probably sit next to him
As you bow your heads
To the same direction,
With the same intention
But maybe your feet and shoulders were
Miles apart

As you point, do you not see the devil?
Has artistically drawn a border between you and he
A border paper thin,
Yet strong to make you become a murderer
This wall he cast onto your eyes,
Stems from a single word
A word if a dare say it,
Fear it may cause another human life
Another little boy with eyes to the sky,
Tears swelled up,
The boy you were once… maybe?
The word Qabil
There goes another life.

Not just a friend

You watch him lie
Then deny and you walk around like everything is fine
You gave him your heart and he is tearing it apart
Girl when you will realize that he is not worth your love
And that he is wasting your time

He makes you cry
And never there to dry your teary eyes
And I can’t lie
You are one of a kind
A rose in my eyes

We have been friends
Spent many years and more times
I swear you have melted my heart
Every time you smile
I feel the sunshine on your lips so bright

In your arms I felt like home
And there you have destroy all my pain and fears
You cheered me up
And made heart beat faster than a deer
Now hear me clear

I know you like myself
In the malls he is lost
But I look into your eyes
And tell you here is your favorite color
My dear
You just smile and walk on

Then call me later
I can hear that you chocking
You can’t speak but hardly breathing
He is treating you bad
I can’t take it

Listen
I don’t wanna hear about him
I wanna be him
But not like him
Better than him

Hold you tight and never let you go
I wanna be the one you love
I wanna be the one you tell your girlfriends about
Walk with your hand in hand
Hug you and listen to your heart’s beat

Kiss you and tell you that I have missed you
Light some candles when the sun goes down
Let me in
I will stand by you thru the seasons
Summer, autumn, spring
And winter my arms will never let you go
Even when we have melted the snow
I will still be by you

I wanna be more not just a friend

Words

I'd  remember I couldn't speak
I had to make gestures just to get kiss on a cheek
I had to speak wit my body just to get milk from my moms titty
And when I didn't get as I wished
I had to cry for it
Never understood why couldn't afford it
And never will
Never til I learned ABC's
And I start scoring A's on my degrees
Books came then shock came
Started to communicate
But never had a common mate
When my emotions got great
I couldn't ventilate
Never had someone that understood my heart rate
Felt so strange, strange rage arranged
My strange ways so I've seen lot of strange days
My range from my view got me looking at people in my review
Cause in my life menu I found Words Words Words
These words words words got me cursed
It felt so but now I know, I'm getting rehearsed
For my main event, This is destiny something I wouldn't prevent
It felt like torment, It was my actions and what I have forth sent
Karma called it whatever start knocking on my door and now is a guest forever
I called it my actions responding for a corrections
It never stopped my passion
But I feel the affection and humans predictions
Slowly making me a victim, this is sickdom
Pointing fingers but every hand got three fingers pointing back
In this sick community, society theres no purity or unity
I'm glad to be a menace cause there is nothing for me
I'm tremendous in my self imaginary
Enormous to my casualties
Your sickest fantasies couldn't capture me
All the words and prescriptions couldn't prescribe me
If you do
Then which one or what side of me
See just because I be speaking or behaving at your level doesn't mean
That I'am just another bean
This is just words words words
For these headless birds birds birds
We know every bird fly with his own herd herd herd
Is still words transforming to an act

All praises to the most high Allah
And praises to most fly taaadaa

The believer and the disbeliever in school

The believer thinks of his Lord on his way to the school,
the remembrance of Allah makes him feel so cool.

The disbeliever jumps out of his bed,
hoping he wasn’t too late.

The believer starts his day with Duas and Wudhu.
Fajr prayer and breakfast on his table.

The disbeliever swears and wishes it was a Friday and not a Monday.
thanking his God brings too much effort.

The believer greets his friends at school and share what he learned at the Masjid.

The disbeliever acts like he is on of another episode of Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and tells them how many girls he scored.

Two brothers who used to share same deen.
One followed his Noor
The other pretend to be a fool,
But he knows the rules.

Brother Noor wants Brother Fool to dig deeper to find the truth.

If you pretend to know her

What if you pretended that you knew her?
Assumed her everyday attire was a vision of what was underneath those veins
What if her eyes where a reflection of the inner core of the thoughts that ran for miles
View her ideas, her visions, her dreams, her aspirations and what makes her smile
These books you pretend to have been reading from her
Have been incorrect and indecisive upon this journey
See, what she yearns for is what no one can provide but herself
But you don’t know her, bet you think that it doesn’t matter
That the war torn country she came from was just a minor blimp in her life
That the nightmares you wake up from, are her reality and where she comes from
Cause you might pretend to know her, but the persona she displays are the only things that you can see
Her attire is the only thing that you can read
Her veil speaks for itself on what her heart desires
She wants peace her eyes will never again comprehend
Post traumatic does not define what lies beneath
Her heart aches for the beautiful sunsets she used to see
Instead of the atomic bomb threats coming from over seas
“Pirates” her family was labeled
“Terrorist” was what the religion “enabled”
Not “love”, not “innocence”, cause these titles where unfamiliar to her everyday tongue
Unfamiliar to her world, because she does not come from a land that believes it can be over
Her people were blamed for the bloodshed that painted the town red
Not the poison that was trickling in the minds of those that wanted the bread
Her mother was telling her that the verses in the Quran
States that “after hardship will always come ease”
And she was trying to figure out how to obtain that peace
In this land of diseased dreams
In this air full of poisoned thoughts
Of what she believes are illusions of a better tomorrow
You can pretend to know her, but you will never understand her

meaning of war

What is war?
A fight between two sides that represent two ideals!
But what is the meaning of war?
Death! Cries! Victory! And when the novelty wears off… more cries!
If we can elaborate on the meaning of war…

It is the gaze that has trapped the essence of sadness
From her fingertips to the pit of her soul
And sadness wants to escape and flow free from her eyes
To run down the tracks he made, the path he dyed upon her face
War was when her well had dried and blood took its place
But now selfishly retaining what little she has left

It is the fragile frame that has lost its roar
The raging fire extinguished by that final whimper
That sturdy presence that once exhumed grace
Has now withered and dried, her exposed thorns blunt and futile
It was when she became disabled and dropped the world on her shoulders
The day her legs gave out during her hunt

It is those dim ears that mutes the sounds of gunshots
But pokes at the piercing shrill of a drop of blood
If only it were just a drop of blood!
She would readily donate that one drop of blood!
Its deafening to be consumed by the flow of blood
Swimming against the sea of dead she searches for a hole to tend
A frantic but vain attempt, she finds the hole only swallows any stem

It is the pride misplaced with dignity and grace
That mother tongue that once danced out of her mouth
Now burns in her throat as it was the children of mother who taught her pain
It is when the lucky and chosen few are branded refugees
Residing in the illustrated homes far overseas
It is when the caress of your land between your toes
Becomes the eminent death sentence

So again, what is the meaning of war?
The scent of blood has become a norm
By that shadow of death in Mogadishu town
Somalia died bound and tied long ago
20 years of her children’s cries over rode her howls
And shot guns silenced the few that mourned
Now the question that remains…
When will there be victory?
Just a moment of peace to live in the novelty.

Group Poem 16 (ekphrasis): The Mask you hide behind Sister.

Behind a mask you lie
To others you’re this good girl who everybody wants to be
Had to be me who knows this secret of you
No one has a clue but I wish you could be true to your self
Because what you represent is a Muslim
Time went so quick how your heart went bitter towards Allah
It’s my reasonability I feel it’s my accountability
Is it my fault again if you go to hell for eternity?

Was I that selfish to you and me, never prayed myself?
Believe me sister I do one day, but that’s the disagreement between me and you
I love Allah and his messager and everything you knew and felt you act like you can’t remember.
I’m confused if I should continue to have you as family,
watch you wash away with the wind and be captured in the hands of the devil.
We are on a different game different level. as like as chalk and cheese.
But please say there’s a chance in life you’ll come back and believe
And is this the pain Muhammad s.a.w felt when his uncle died as a kuffir.

Sister that used to be a part of Islam, is it right to talk to you?
What can I do but guide you, when I'm not rightly guided myself.
But once upon a time we prayed together,
I felt the connection it was stronger than living on earth,
no words to describe it, but it was the first time I didn’t want to die.
So should I give up now or give a Dua for you,
should I give up now and let it be, let you go do your own thing, never think about it,
knowing what your truly are, know that the hijab is a cover up you hide behind, the mask you display to others.
Every time I look in your eyes I know the true mind of you and you no believer.
To be honest even though I never show you tears but today I cried knowing your words and no Love for Allah.
Allah only helps others who help them selevs so i guess I'll never hear you say the shahada again.

Group Poem 16 (ekphrasis): The signs are everywhere

We walk in this earth as we are going to remain forever
Thinking about death is to hard too remember
But if you did you might have changed
Don’t you have 25 minutes of your day?
Few minutes each day we talk to our Lord
The All-hearer, the All-knowing
So why can’t you change?

The signs are everywhere
From birth to grave
Miracle?
Had it been minutes instead of years
They had woke up

The noble Quran
With no mistakes
Only pure guideness
Darwin Evolution
It’s no chance

Can’t you see?
The ocean, the sun
Perfectly, then moon arrives
Saying hi
Stars that shines
There is a sign

If you can look up,
You can get up
Right up from the dark
There is a light
Waiting for you to declare,
One day you would be there
Visiting the graves as they were your soul mates
You cant say hi nor good-bye

For those who believe
Everything is a sign
So why can’t you see
That there is only one God, but
Allah..
